Responsibilities

One of the most important functions of county government is to oversee the electoral process. The Elections Department has the responsibility of conducting all federal, state, county elections, and certain elections for other political subdivisions that contract with Ellis County for election services including voter registration. Ellis county has 45 political subdivisions which include Cities, Schools, Water Districts and Emergency Service Districts.
